Configuring the NTP Service

<p><strong>Procedures</strong></p> <p>1. Remotely Connect to a Linux Instance.</p> <p>2. Execute the command sudo vim /etc/ntp.conf to open and edit the NTP service configuration file with vim.</p> <p>3. After finding the information of the server ntp server iburst, enter <strong>i</strong> to start editing the file, and add #hide to the beginning of the sentence of the NTP server that you do not need.</p> <p>4. Add a new line of NTP server information in the format: server The NTP server iburst you need to add. Ping An Cloud provides the following 4 ntp servers.</p> <p>server ntp1.cloud.papub iburst</p> <p>server ntp2.cloud.papub iburst</p> <p>server ntp3.cloud.papub iburst</p> <p>server ntp4.cloud.papub iburst</p> <p>5. After completing editing, press the Esc key and enter: wq to save and exit.</p> <p>6. Start the ntp service, according to your operating system version:</p> <p>Redhat / CentOS 6 and previous operating systems:</p> <p>（1）&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Execute sudo service ntpd start command to enable the NTP service.</p> <p>（2）&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Execute the command sudo chkconfig ntpd on to configure the boot to enable the NTP service.</p> <p>（3）&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Execute the ntpstat command to view the NTP service status</p> <p>Redhat/CentOS 7：</p> <p>（1）&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Execute the sudo systemctl start ntpd to enable the NTP service.</p> <p>（2）&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Execute the sudo systemctl enable ntpd command to enable the NTP service at boot.</p> <p>（3）&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Execute the ntpstat command to view the NTP service status</p>
