Quickly Use the External ELB Service
This article uses external ELB as an example to show how to quickly start using ELB services by creating ELB instances, listeners, and server resource pools.
Prerequisites
• You have purchased VPC, and created DMZ network and subnet successfully. For more information, see Quick Start of VPC.
• You have purchased ECS or other computing services in any subnet of the DMZ network domain of VPC.
Limitations
• After you create an ELB instance, you need to add a minimum of one listener and one back-end server resource pool.
• You need to add a minimum of one back-end server to the server resource pool.
Step 1: Create an ELB Instance
1. Log in to the ELB Console.
2. In the left navigation pane, click Instance Management to enter the Instance Management page.
3. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Create to enter the Create ELB Instance page.
4. After checking the Billing Option and Configuration Information, click Confirm to enter the Order Confirmation page.

5. Click Confirm Open to enter the Payment Result page to view the Pay Success message.
6. Click Manage Console to back to the Overview page.
Step 2: Create a Pool
1. In the left navigation pane, click Instance Management to enter the Instance Management page.
1. Click the instance name of the newly created Internet ELB instance in step 1, and enter the Instance Information page.
2. Click the Pool tab.
3. In the upper-right corner of the tab, click Create to enter the Create Pool page.
4. Enter the Basic Information, check the host you want to add to the resource pool in the Add Instance area, click the rightward arrow to select, and set the Port and Weight for the host.

• Add a minimum of one host.
5. Click Create, and you will see an Operation succeeded message at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Create a Listener
1. Click the Listener tab in the Instance Information page.
2. In the upper-right corner of the tab, click Create to enter the Create Listener page.
3. After entering the Basic Information and Advanced Configuration, click Next.

4. Enter the Health Check information of the listener, click Create, and you will see an Operation succeeded message at the bottom of the page, and then the page returns to the Instance Information page.
