It only supports scheduled key deletion. When you schedule the deletion of a CMK, KMS does not delete it immediately. You can specify a waiting period from 7 to 30 days, after which KMS deletes the CMK. During the waiting period, you can cancel the key deletion. After the waiting period ends, KMS permanently deletes the CMK. Schedule the deletion of a CMK with caution. </p> </section> <section class="section attention" id="plandel__qyn_kwv_jlb"><div class="tasklabel"><h2 class="doc-tairway">Attention</h2></div> <ul class="ul" id="plandel__ul_d3p_nwv_jlb"> <li class="li">Before deleting a CMK, make sure you do not need the CMK now or in the future. </li> <li class="li">To avoid malicious scheduled deletion, if the key status of a CMK that is PENDING_DELETE changes on the same day, you are charged on the day. </li> <li class="li">You are not billed for a CMK in the status of PENDING_DELETE. However, if you cancel the key deletion during the waiting period, you are charged for it again.
