General Reference
This article describes how to create a whitelist entry.
Overview
After a Redis instance is created, you can log in to the Redis database to perform operations. The Ping An Cloud Redis service supports the open-source Redis protocol. You can use a general Redis client to connect to a Redis instance.
For security reasons, Ping An Cloud currently does not support direct access to Redis instances from the public network. You can access the Redis instance only from an ECS instance.
By default, the Redis service is not accessible. To allow an ECS instance to access a Redis instance, you must create a whitelist entry in the Redis console. The whitelist feature enhances the access security of the Redis service.
Limitations
Currently, BMS in the East China region does not support access to Redis.
Prerequisites
Usage Guidelines
If you cannot access a database instance from a whitelisted ECS, please submit a Srvbot request to enable the firewall service for the instance access.
Procedures
1. Log in to the Redis Console.
2. In the left navigation pane, click Redis Cluster to enter the DBPaaS for Redis page.
3. Select the target region.
4. In the Operation column of the target instance, click Manage.
5. On the page that opens, click the White List tab.
: Alternatively, you can click CREATE WHITELIST on the Information tab to enter the whitelist page.
6. In the upper-right corner of the Whitelist area, click Create Whitelist.
7. In the dialog box that opens, select the subnet IP of the target ECS instance, and then click Save.
Result
1. In the Whitelist area, the status of the target Subnet IP is Pending.
2. The status of the Target Subnet IP changes to Available, indicating that the subnet IP is successfully whitelisted.
