This article describes how to back up automatically.

Prerequisites

You have successfully created a DDS Instance. For more information, see Create a General Instance.

Usage Guidelines

1. Only general instance supports backup operation.

2. Backup Start Time cannot overlap with Time Segment. For more information about time segment, see Set Time Segment.

Procedures

1. Log in to DDS Management Console.

2. In the left navigation pane, click DDS Cluster to enter the DBPaaS for DDS page.

3. Select the target region.

4. Click Manage in the Operations column of the target instance, and select the Backup page.

5. Click the Setting tab, and set and view automatic backup policy.

6. In the Backup Policy area, you can view the current backup policy.

Configuration item	Description
Data Retention Period	Data retention period for automatic backup is one month by default. You can set Data Retention Period in the Adjustment Strategy area.
Log Retention Period	Log retention period for automatic backup is one month by default. You can set Log Retention Period in the Adjustment Strategy area.
Backup Cycle	The backup cycle of automatic backup is daily by default. You can set Backup Cycle in the Adjustment Strategy area.
Backup Startup Period	The start time of automatic backup is from 23:00 to 00:00 by default. You can set Backup Startup Period in the Adjustment Strategy area.

7. On the Adjustment Strategy page, you can set automatic backup policy based on the following information.

Configuration item	Description
Data Retention Period	Data retention period for automatic backup is one month by default. Set month and year: • By month. The value range is 1 to 11. • By year. The value range is 1 to 5. : Data Retention Period and Log Retention Period are synchronized.
Log Retention Period	Log retention period for automatic backup is one month by default. Set month and year: • By month. The value range is 1 to 11. • By year. The value range is 1 to 5. : Data Retention Period and Log Retention Period are synchronized.
Backup Startup Period	Automatic Backup Start Time
Backup Cycle	Set target backup cycle

8. Click Adjustment Strategy.

Result

• Operation Succeeded is displayed at the bottom of the page.

• The target value of Backup Cycle in the Backup Policy area.

Subsequent Operation

• On the Backup page, select Information to view all backup records.

• You can search backup data based on time.

• For restoration, you can select target automatic backup record. For more information, see Restore Backup.
