This article describes how to log in to a Linux instance.
Prerequisites
1. You have successfully created Dedicated Instances. For more information, see the article for creating a Dedicated Instance.
2. You have applied for a public IP address. For more information, see the article for applying for a public IP address.
3. You have configured access rules for the security group based on the direction of traffic. For more information, see the article for configuring security group rules.
4. Make sure the network connectivity between the login tool and the target Dedicated Instance is available. For example, the default port 22 is not blocked by a firewall.
5. Your local computer has downloaded PuTTY. To download PuTTY, click downloaded PuTTY.
Windows Client
If your local computer runs the Windows operating system, you can log in to a Dedicated Instance as described in this article. This section uses PuTTY as an example.
Procedures
1. Double-click PuTTY to enter its main interface.
2. Configure the following session parameters.
3. Click Open.
4. Enter the username and password. You can obtain the random password on the Instance Detail page.
Linux Client
If your local computer runs the Linux operating system, you can log in to a Dedicated Instance by entering a command at the command line interface of the computer.
