Overview

Data Backup:

The DBRS creates a storage snapshot backup for the RDS-PostgreSQL, RDS-MySQL, DDS and other database instances of Ping An Cloud database. The backup data is the full data of the database instances, and does not support single-table backup. DBRS can perform regular backups based on user-specified backup strategies or perform temporary backups initiated manually by users. The regular backup is started in the backup window of the database instances, and the backup data of the database instances will be saved according to the backup retention period specified by the user.

 

Data Recovery:

During the retention period, users can restore the database to the data at any point-in-time of any backup slice in the backup retention period.

Users can view the backup slice information related to the regular backup and the temporary backup in the Console, and then restore the corresponding backup data into a new database instance by specifying the backup slice or time point that the database needs to be restored, and start the database.

 

Building secondary database:

To build a secondary database is to build an identical, remote instance of the database.  The data of the two database instances are connected to ensure real-time data synchronization and remote disaster recovery of the database. Once the primary database goes wrong, the business will automatically switch to the secondary database to keep business operations free from impact.
